Sertraline Withdrawal: How Bad Can It Get?

I ran out of my sertraline and totally forgot to get my refill. How bad are withdrawal symptoms? Will it not be that bad if it’s just one day without it?

Everyone is different in how they react, but I tried to taper off of Sertraline a few months back. I was fine with half my normal dose, but when I started taking half of that again, I started getting headaches that made it hard to do anything but lie down. I don't think I got those headaches right away, though. I think it took a couple of days. You may be totally fine for the day.

One day shouldn't be to bad since it builds up in the body. You should have some on reserve in your brain. But don't wait to long to get back on it.

Last time I didnt take my sertraline for around 4-5 days I spent the night at the ER, but it varies for people. I would say physically the biggest side effect I notice is headaches and dizziness. Hope you get your refill ASAP!!!
