Struggling with Severe Dehydration: Need Help Masking the Taste of Celtic Salt in Water

I struggle with severe dehydration to the point where I get iv fluids 3 times a week. My doc recommended I add Celtic salt to my water. He said if there’s more salt in my blood stream than my cells the salt will go in my cells and the water will follow. I can’t get used to the taste of the salt in my water. Does anyone have any suggestions on other things I can add to mask the taste or how to adjust?

Are you able to drink anything else besides water? Using Gatorade, body armors, even sparkling water would maybe help!

I can’t drink anything with processed sugars or artificial colors like Gatorade or other sports drinks I could try sparkling water though

Sparkling water like la croix might be worth a shot. It takes some getting used to but it’s quite tasty after you’re used to it.

There’s a electrolyte powder pack called liquid I.V. It helps me when I get blood drawn because I have horrible veins and it’s better than Gatorade. You can also try Himalayan salt for the same thing it helps your body absorb water, it’s good to soak your feet in too.

I will def try the pickle juice, lemon and sparkling water. Liquid iv upsets my stomach unfortunately. The doc said the Celtic salt has more electrolytes than Himalayan salt and to stick with the Celtic.

I highly recommend sparkling water with some pure juice added to it, think lime, lemon, or orange. Though I imagine you could do some other, no added sugar juices like pomegranate or cherry.

You can also look up recipes & make a big batch for a couple days or for the week of your own electrolyte mix with Celtic salt, sugar, and then some lemon or lime juice!

You could also try just sucking on rock salt or otherwise just adding salt to your diet and drinking the water separately... Things like chips, jerky (homemade if necessary), etc... or maybe try drinking a hot cup of chicken broth in place of whatever hot beverage you're used to
