It’s a really hard one to say because bpd is just so incredibly hard to diagnose even for professionals. Bpd can look like unseen autism, adhd, anxiety, bipolar, depression and even ptsd. The symptoms overlap with soooo many others and it’s just difficult to really tell without knowing that person professionally for a long term. For me personally my psychiatrist worked with me every 2 weeks for about 4 years before he felt confident giving me my diagnosis. It also depends on ur age too. There’s a few rare cases but the chances of being diagnosed young are very low because it is a cluster b personality disorder they need to be absolutely certain it is infact a disorder of the personality and the only true way to see if that’s the case is time. Seeing how u act and develop as u get older as most teens at some point will have the symptoms of bpd yet not many of em actually have it. That’s why them knowing u over time is such a crucial part of getting an accurate diagnosis. It is truthfully a very long process but I wish you the best and hope it gets better (:

The biggest part of borderline for me was the fear of abandonment, my development issues (stopped talking cuz dad went to jail for a bit when I was 3), and I thought I was more autistic (just to see I got approved/did neuropsych testing done and just waiting for the results) but I liked being around people, often (but that COULD be something to do with my ADHD). I also related to the common anxiety with maintaining relationships (friendships, family relationships, and love life can be very hard to handle sometimes). I also have bipolar disorder and some fear with change as well tho so my mood and my fear of loss is high atm, but I “finally” got the diagnosis recently being in the hospital recently. But I studied a lot of this when I was in college for my general electives to try to figure it out myself. Another major thing with the diagnosis is having no cure can feel terrifying buuuuuttt studies show that way less elderly have it, and the hardest but best way to handle it is therapy/ both cognitive and dialectical therapy (such as keeping a journal app, I suggest Daylio, Shmoody, or DBT Coach, I’m pretty sure they all track at least mood and possibly sleep, kinda keeping track of patterns to see if certain things commonly set you off, I always try to take notes of the day due to memory loss and get a pic to possibly do one of those cool TikTok videos of what makes me happy or how I look over time. But I wish you luck, hope, and positive vibes cuz I just got added to the BPD train myself and it’s a rough ride, but genuinely just lacking friends, resources, and suitable emotional and social interaction abilities I feel atm.
