My Son's Mental Health is Deteriorating, What Can I Do?

I need help. My son is in a bad place mentally. He opened up to his girlfriend about something horrible that happened to him when he was in 6th grade. The very next morning, she told him that she feels that he is interfering with her ability to attend to her daughters needs and broke up with him. He has bipolar tendencies, but never diagnosed. He is spiraling down into deep depression and self destruction thoughts. What can I do/say to help him? I don't want to make him spiral even more. He lives over 500 miles away. So I can't just go to his apartment to be with him.

Well, the first thing you can do is offer your full support. I am sure you have already done this. You might also tell him about this app for peer support. Sometimes the people we open up to just can't handle it. My issues cost me my marriage, for example. Here there is no judgements. There is just support. Feel free to message me if I can help more.

thank you πŸ’œ I will tell him about this app. I know he has a virtual counselor. I have urged him to reach out to her. He is resistant to any suggestions right now. But, he is at least texting with me. I just feel like what I am doing isn't enough.
