You need to prepare for months of feeling drained. It's an intensive treatment, so make sure you have everything you need to rest safely.

After my stem cell transplant, avoiding infections was important because our immune systems are pretty weak for a while. The medical team had me on a bunch of meds to prevent infections, both in the hospital and when I got home. And I had to get all my vaccinations updated, like the flu shot. Eating safely was important, too. I had to avoid any food that wasn't freshly cooked or might be risky, like certain takeaways, and make sure everything was clean, especially fruits and salads. I did lose some weight during treatment but started to feel stronger once I could eat properly again. I was staying away from crowded places and sick people for the first few weeks at home to reduce the risk of catching something. It was a bit isolating, but keeping in touch with loved ones online or over the phone helped a lot. Don't forget to keep asking your doctor when it's safe to start going out more normally again. Hope this helps. Take care and all the best with your recovery.

even a common cold can become a serious issue. Perhaps a virtual catch-up?
