Struggling with ADHD and Trauma Brain

So I've been struggling with this for a while, but trauma brain and ADHD have similar traits. I was recently (as an adult) diagnosed with ADHD with the whole test thing where you have parents and people you live with fill out forms. My family insists I've been like this my whole life. Cool cool cool I feel validation and what not. but I also experienced extreme trauma as a child too. So what I'm saying is it just trauma brain? Like I feel like the meds help but what if I'm just setting myself up for addiction and I don't ACTUALLY need them. I know you can have both but I'm sorry I'm just overthinking. Idk if I should have posted in adhd or ptsd I apologize.

Ooo that’s a really good point, I’d deffo post this same thing on the PTSD category to see what people over there think, I feel like they might be more knowledgeable with stuff like this

maybe something to talk about with your dr? I can definitely relate, mental stuff is so intertwined and it’s hard to tell what’s what. I would say that if the meds are helping you, what’s the harm? addiction can form even if you did need them

I legit feel your pain, I wonder this all the time, like is this because of my diagnosis, my other diagnosis, or trauma? Lol I don’t have an answer for you but I can relate.
