Struggling with BPD: Seeking Non-Pharmaceutical Remedies

hello! i’m travis, I use (they/them) pronouns, and i’m 17 currently, i’m struggling to deal with my BPD especially, since my parents won’t let me become medicated to help manage it. coping mechanisms are only going so far, and with a depressive episode on its way eventually, i’m worried to see how it’ll turn out. it got really bad last time. does anyone know any non-pharmaceutical remedies to help treat mood swings, impulsive thoughts, ext.?

Fish oil, kava kava, lions mane have all helped me tremendously when I was in your position. Stay strong baby. It doesn’t last forever. It get so much easier later once your parents aren’t in control!!!

Agreed ^^ hang in there until you can make those decisions for yourself. Move asap out if you can and get professional help. It’s the first step. I’ll be honest I haven’t had any success with my disorders without professional help, but I was 21 when it started getting worse and my parents have always been supportive of my mental health journey. It’s really hard trying to navigate these disorders alone and I’m sorry you have to do that. Hang in there❣️
