Struggling with Memory Loss: Need Advice

I've been forgetting everything. Appointments, meetings, special dates, where all my things are, it's terrible. It's starting to really affect me and my family. I've ruined so many plans because I forget about them. No matter how many planners, post it notes, whiteboards etc. i use I continue to forget. How do you deal with it? How do you figure out how to remember things?

i try to find aesthetically pleasing or convenient ways to plan so any apps that work best for you ,, texting a group chat letting someone / people know your plans for a certain thing or time period ,, like for me ill text my parents my work schedule and all that just so they know and if i ever need to go back and look i have it there as well as the schedule from my work. i guess my advice would be keep working and trying to see what works best for you, don’t be afraid to ask for support :)

On your profile, it says that you don’t take any medications for ADHD. Have you talked to your doctor about a trial? It might take the edge off those symptoms.

I was on methylphenidate for a while but it made my anxiety so bad I had to go off of it. I really want to go back on it but we still need to get my anxiety under control.

I found that when I found the correct adhd med for me it helped my anxiety exponentially, maybe ask about doing trials with other medications just to see?

Honestly, try Google calendar. My memory is a vicious daily battle. I want to be able to trust it and simply have the information I need present, but that simply isn't how my brain works. Play to your strengths. If memory is a weakness, find support. Sometimes that's as simple as finding a tool and building a habit. Google is completely free and you can easily block out the time for your plans and the things you don't want to forget. Build the habit of entering in important events and checking your calendar, then it can support you when your memory isn't 👍 💕
