Maybe listen to easy music before bed or have something to eat that you're like before going to sleep

First up, realising that's super normal and common! I still struggle with this myself so maybe I'm not the best person to give this advice but there's lots of things you can try to help: **warning some of this advice is cliche af but give it a chance it can really help** listen to a podcast or audiobook on something you really like or are interested in that will distract you, listen to meditations, remind yourself it'll be better in the morning, listen to music, think of the things you are grateful for, deep breathing techniques, remind yourself that this is time for resting even if you don't sleep it's okay there's nothing you need to do right now you can just rest, take it one step at a time (eg instead of going straight to bed sit in your room near your bed until you are sleepy then go to bed), make your bedroom extra nice (clean sheets, maybe some flowers, fairy lights, stuffed animals) whatever you like, don't be afraid to break the rules you can sleep with your light on in daytime clothes even on the couch, you can also try the mindfulness technique of watching thought go by (imagine thoughts (especially negative) are cars or animals and you see them walking by not affecting you just passing by, it's okay if they are negative or scary thoughts they are just passing by
