I had the same problem. Told to get weight off since I am CHF and am on the waiting list for a heart transplant. I started following the Pritikin Diet. Basically it is chicken, fish, turkey, some pork, and very very little red meat (beef). Lots of vegetables, limited carbs (pasta, potatoes, etc). Water, tea, soy milk (Silk)...no sodas, no juices, no alcohol, limit sugar. I added venison since it is very lean meat to replace the beef. Stay off of salt. Pritikin suggests using herbs. I also do the chair exercises. But also added low impact aerobics. Bought 2 and 3 lb hand weights for arms. Need to exercise 5 days a week. Be consistent. Mix up the type of exercises. Monday, Wednesday, Friday--upper body, Tuesday, Thursday-- lower body. Walk every day (7 days a week) at your pace for 1 hour. Not all at one time. If you can only do 15 mins then break the time frame up throughout the day. Check with your cardiologist if you are on fluid restriction. If you are...follow it. Weigh yourself daily (same time, same clothes). If you gain 3 lbs over night or 5 lbs within a week...you are retaining water and that is not good. I weigh at the same time every morning when I first get up and in the same nightgown. Give it time. It took awhile to put the weight on therefore it will take awhile to get it off. In order to lose you need to burn more calories than what you are consuming. It may take several months or a year...just be consistent. I have lost 10 lbs since March 2021. Don't give up. You got this!!

I have been retaining water so I’m on a water pill. Thank y’all I will try all that and see how it goes. I’ve been drinkin more water also but it seems like I’m not peeing enough or something maybe I’m drinkin to much water. Trying to stay away from the salt. This is all new to me so I’ve been very depressed and have anxiety.

No salt at all in your food, no lunch meat, nothing can be fried. Limit cheese and carbs. When i was in heart failure i was nauseous a lot and lost a lot of weight. Eating and talking were both physically too exhausting for me as well.

I also take about a 30 minute break in the afternoon, if I can, to meditate. I downloaded on my phone, so that I can even do it anywhere, the following: " WATCH 432 hz", "WATCH 528 hz", "WATCH All 7 Chakras". I close my eyes, deep slow breathing--in through the nose, out through the mouth, no distractions ( at first this was hard till I learned to block all other noises around me) while I am listening to the flutes, bells. No voices on these-- just meditational instruments. Hope this helps you.

I take lasics one time A-day And 2 other medications. You got this OK you're gonna make it. My Heartbeat is at 8%. I've had CHF for 2 years my heart was at 20% until 3 weeks ago now it's at 8. That's because I had anxiety attacks from hell. It is not due to the fact that I have not changed my diet I eat fried chicken I eat mashed potatoes potatoes I everything is out there I smoke methyl cigarettes and I smoke weed To help me eat because I have no appetite. I am 56 years old I just power washed my mother's house which took me 3 days in the hot sun and I'm now painting her deck. I drink milk I drink Orange juice I drink water I drink cokes you name it. My heart is enlarged so big now that that I definitely not gonna make it much longer but I'm not afraid of death. I am not trying to kill myself which I have to stress to my family members, But I am not gonna live the way the doctors tell me I have to live I cannot afford it. I have no insurance I'm supposed to be wearing a Is life Vest which now they tell me will do me no good. I actually feel pretty good right now . I know that people We'll say that it's because of my choice of life styles, But Anybody that has anxiety attacks Knows that it takes enormous amounts of energy to pull yourself out of one And having 1 at 8%, There are no words for it it is like your body is burning up on fire somebody standing on your chest And someone else with their hands around your neck choking You, And let's not forget to mention the fact that you pee on yourself. I am so sorry people I've just got so much to say and I'm trying to say too much at 1 time But all I'm trying to say is you're gonna make it. I've made it 2 years And I have not changed anything about my lifestyle. I'm not a bad-ass I'm 56 years old and I'm a skinny old man That cannot gain weight. So we can compare that all of you that are doing what you're supposed to do God be with you You're definitely gonna make it
