Sudden Nausea and Abdominal Cramping During Period

Not sure what happened. I'm on my period and I got really sick in the middle of the night; severe nausea and abdominal cramping. Cramping in both upper and lower abdomen. I took aleve a few hours before it happened, but I've never had a problem before. Since my last period, I've started a new birth control and I'm on duloxetine. Thoughts?
