Warm compresses help. It may loosen the ear mess.

Try putting a little bit of hydrogen peroxide in a mug and a tablet of vitamin E. Warm in a microwave for approx 5 seconds then stir. Lay down and have someone help pour it into your ear. It's going to bubble and tickle a bit but it shouldn't hurt. Place a cotton ball or something similar over it and wait for a few minutes. Sometimes, after a bit, it's good to keep the cotton ball pressed against your ear as you roll over and lay your head on a heating pad or something similar. My family has used this method for years for ear infections. I hope this helps!
