When to switch medications for depression?

I’m taking Cymbalta but I’m not sure if it’s still doing the same amount that it was - how long do you wait until you switch around meds? I’ve just been feeling more out of it and on edge along with more depressive thoughts. It’s helped with my not needing to take a two hour nap everyday for sure but I’m also not sleeping as well. I’m not sure if it’s time to switch or maybe it’s my sleeping aid. Overall any tips on when it’s time to switch

The best advice anyone can give is keeping in touch with the doctor who prescribed it. If it feels like it's not working like it should, tell the doctor, and they'll be able to help you figure out if you need a dosage adjustment or a new medication

My psychiatrist mentioned once that, if a medication is going to time out, it'll most likely do so around 8-10 months. But after a while off it, patients can often successfully use it again. It's not off the table forever. I cycle through a few this way.
