How to talk to my family about starting hormone therapy?

hey, im aiden. ive been contemplating going on T for about a year and a half now. ive been out to my friends for about 3ish years and my family for nearly 2. i just dont know how to bring it up and im scared of them turning it down. any suggestions? im super nervous to bring this up to them :(

I suggest talking to your doctor, so you are fully informed of both the pros and cons. In my opinion, as far as your friends and family should be concerned, this would hopefully relieve an amount of your gender dysphoria and generally make you happier <3

okay!! will do. i plan on bringing it up with my doctor soon. taking T has been a huge dream of mine honestly 😅 thanks for the advice

hi i hope u are able to get the hormones and treatments u want! i am afab non binary and i am not on t but i am scheduled for top surgery for this july. doctors can be weird about gender stuff lol. if you trust the medical professionals around u tho they can be really good. u can also research lgbtq centers near u and they are super helpful in getting gender affirming care <3

I think you should talk to a medical professional that specializes in hormone therapy. I went to Howard Brown medical group in Chicago.
