Terrified of ADHD Diagnosis Results

That’s ok! There’s also trauma that can mimic symptoms and other reasons for executive dysfunction. You are getting closer to knowing what’s going on so that’s worth it! Your struggles are valid regardless of what the assessment says.

When I was being diagnosed, the first person I saw did an attention test on a computer and didn’t even talk to me about my symptoms and then he said that I don’t have ADHD. Then I saw someone else and she talked to me about my symptoms and she went through the diagnostic criteria and she easily diagnosed me with ADHD. So know that if the first person you see didn’t assess you or you think they didn’t do it right, you can definitely get a second opinion!!! And if everyone finds that you don’t have ADHD but you have something else, that is more helpful to you than a false diagnosis of ADHD because then you will get the treatment you need. Good luck, I hope everything goes okay!!!
