Therapist calling alters 'parts' instead of 'alters'

Does anyone else’s therapist call their alters “parts”? Mine does, but u feel like they should be called alters. Should I bring this up to her or just go with parts?

I'd go with what you're more comfortable with, 😌 definitely bring it up to her.

Bring it up to her, you need to be comfortable.

Mine used to call them personalitys. Many in our system would get offended or would fear they aren't their own person. If it makes you and your alters more comfortable, you should bring it up

that’s kind of how my alters are like. Some of them get offended when they are referred to as parts, not alters. Technically my diagnosis is OSDD-1a, but I’m thinking it’s DID. I’m not sure, my therapist says they aren’t separated enough to be called alters, but they all have their own name, age, pronouns, and gender. So I feel like that does make them separate enough. What are your thoughts?
