Tips for Attending Large Outdoor Events with HS

Does anybody have tips for going to large outdoor events involving a lot of walking? Due to COVID and some major surgeries, I haven’t gotten around to a ton of outdoor events recently. Since HS can even cause problems with smaller outdoor events on hot days, I’m questioning how I would do going somewhere like a theme park or a festival. Does anybody have recommendations on how to get through these long, hot days? How do you manage that much walking without the HS causing a ton of pain and drainage during your expedition?

Bandages. Targeted body powder applied beneath nonstick gauze pads and secured with paper tape.

I always keep a little first aid kit with me filled with bandages, gauze pads, alcohol wipes, scissors, and medical tape! If possible, i also take a tiny face towel with me. Keep yourself alert of where the nearby restrooms are in case you find yourself draining through any bandaging and need to patch up. Hydration and making sure you don't get overheated in general is important with HS! At least in my experience, sometimes sweating to much triggers a flare up. So making sure I'm hydrated and can clean off sweat with wipes or a towel is helpful!
