Hi! Suffer with all sorts of mental health. Trich is my most frustrating one. I don’t have the will to stop when I’m anxious or stressed. Anyone have any tips?

For me, when it’s getting bad, I have to put bandaids on my fingertips, and a beanie on my head. If the bandaids don’t work I put mittens on over them!

My trich is severe and no matter how hard I tried I never could stop. After 13 years I finally found a medication that helps a ton though! Mirtazapine, 30 mg. I used to pull about 100 hairs per day, and today I haven't pulled any. I still have the occasional urge, but they're much more mild and actually possible to resist. You might talk to your doctor about trying it. I've tried a lot of meds and it's the first one that's worked for trich. (Fluvoxamine is great for my anxiety though)

Mental health and trich blend often, I found ssri’s and cutting out as many stressors as I can out of my life reduced the urges, after awhile of not having the urges your brain doesn’t resort to hair pulling as often when stressed.
