Hmmm, I usually have a person wake me up since I don't hear alarms in my sleep. But if that's not possible, I don't really know what to tell you. I'm sorry.

if you want , maybe try a sonic bomb alarm with a vibrating element. It helps break though my sleep when sound doesn’t.

It helps me to put my phone on the other side of the room, so I have to stand up and walk to it to turn it off

I use an old school alarm clock and put it on the other side of the room so I have to get up and turn it off. I've also seen clocks/apps that make you do a puzzle or quiz before you can turn off the alarm to try and make sure you are more awake. I've not used those but it may help!

A life changing switch for me was to get a “sonic bomb” alarm that has a vibrating puck. It was designed for people who are deaf but helped me so much. I think the physical element helps break through my sleepiness a bit more than sound. I once slept through a fire drill when I was in college.

I know I'm very late for this. But I use Alarmy. It makes you solve puzzles in order to stop it. I have to solve math problems for it to go off, but there are other options.

Late to this as well (not many people posting in the IH category huh?) But I found that actually setting FEWER alarms (like no more than 3 a morning) helped, especially if you can get it connected to Spotify or something so it changes every day. Also ditto bed shaker alarms and having a person wake you up. Those apps where you do puzzles don't work for me because most alarms don't wake me up enough to do the puzzles. So it just rings forever without me waking up...

Also re: if you find an alarm that wakes you, set it across the room. That way you have to move to turn it off. Better chance you'll wake up. Medication (Adderall XR) has also made waking up after a normal amount of sleep (8-12 hours) way easier for me.
