Uncommon Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder

My psychiatrist diagnosed me with bipolar disorder, what symptoms should I look out for that are more uncommon? (I.E something that won't always come up on a quick Google search)

For a lot of people it is different. There are two types 1 and 2 which can present differently. There is also manic type or depressive type or mixed. Everyone's Tiggers are different which makes it super hard to understand what your are. The best way to understand what will help you is research and talking to a therapist who can point these things out to you. Good luck

for me, the first signs of hypomania are getting less sleep and having no appetite. then, when i get depressed, i eat and sleep a ton. those aren't necessarily uncommon, but good things to keep track of. honestly, most of my symptoms are pretty in line with what you'd find on the internet. they just present differently in each person, so you need to figure out what depression and (hypo)mania look like for you.

for us, pre-manic symptoms include lots of anxitey, skin picking, distrust and paranoia. mania can include severe psychosis, which can include hallucinations and delusions but that said we might have schizoaffetive not just bipolar so take that part with a grain of salt
