I was originally diagnosed Not Otherwise Specified (NOS) when I was first diagnosed with Bipolar. After a few months, I was diagnosed Bipolar 2 due to my many hypomanic and depressive episodes, but no recorded manic episodes. A few years later, I had a full blown manic episode and my diagnosis changed to Bipolar 1. I am currently stable, thanks to a good med regimen, counseling, and my own coping skills.
