Update on Ketamine: My Consultation Experience

update on ketamine. I recently asked you guys of you knew anything about ketamine. well I had my ketamine consultation today and got a lot of questions answered. And have a good feeling about it. It works differently for everyone and they said it won't help the bpd but can help some of the symptoms that come from it. But mostly it's used to help depression, anxiety, ocd, and ptsd. So ketamine is a party drug known as "special k". Special k is a mixture of ketamine cut with some other drugs. Where as what they give is pure ketamine. Ketamine's medical use is as an anesthetic in larger doses. What they give for an infusion is nothing like what you would get off the streets or as an anesthetic. Another cool thing is they can end your "trip/high" in 40 minutes or less depending on the method you use. I think this may be beneficial to anyone who is open to it. If it's not your thing or had a bad experience in the 90s I wouldn't do it. But I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL OR SPECIALIST. I will keep posting updates as to how I feel after the vist and any side effects I experience

I really want to do this. I just wish it would be covered by insurance.

if it's covered by insurance it can make it a more expensive process because of how they bill things. I wish it were more available to everyone.

my insurance denied my coverage for ketamine treatments at first. But after a long, drawn out appeal, I finally got them to cover the initial treatments.

I tried ketamine treatments for my pseudotumor cerebri headaches and got a lot of benefit from it. Unfortunately, the benefits only lasted about 4 months. They told me with a chronic condition like mine, I may have to come in periodically for boosters, but it is HELL getting my insurance company to pay for it.

I'm hoping I don't need boosters for me. Literally also HATE insurance because of how much we have to fight them.

I just finished my first round! It was for chronic pain but also helped my mental health a lot. Good luck!! I’m excited to hear how it goes for you! The psychoactive effects weren’t nearly as scary as I had anticipated, it was weird but thankfully I didn’t have hallucinations or anything!
