Have you taken steps to lower your risk, like getting your vaccines? If you do visit, be sure to lather in hand sanitizer/wash your hands a lot and don't touch your face with your hands!

Living with a weakened immune system is really tough, especially during flu season. I've made changes like avoiding large crowds when possible and making sure my family and friends understand the importance of not visiting me when they're sick.

I too find myself catching colds and infections easily. I've taken to wearing masks in crowded places and diligently using hand sanitizer. It's also helped me to stay up-to-date with vaccinations

Hi. I have very young nieces and nephews in daycare and elementary school as well, and they're pretty much sickly little germ monsters at that age 😊 I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia after playing with my sick 2-year old niece one Thanksgiving. I suggest to always ask your sister if any of her kids are sick before visits. If so, wear a kn95 mask around them at all times, eat meals in separate rooms or outdoors, and refrain from coloring or playing with any of their toys -- especially if you're within a year or two of transplant. But you can still see them, though😉

I have 11 grandchildren between the ages of nine months and 16 years old. I don’t think there’s one day that I don’t have one of my grandchildren sick instead of avoiding the family I wear a mask and I use hand sanitizer. Additionally, we visit outside.

I totally get where you're coming from. If I were in your shoes, I'd make sure to load up on all my vitamins and supplements to keep my immunity strong. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor to make sure you've got all your vaccines and to get some advice if you're prone to getting sick easily. And don't forget to have a heart-to-heart with your sister about your concerns. If the kids do get sick, you can always go on walks outside and plan some fun activities with her! Just remember to mask up, keep safe distance, and wash your hands regularly whenever you're visiting. I'm sure your nieces and nephews are missing their aunt, so go give them a big hug from me!
