Vivid Dreams and Panic Attacks: Am I Really Having Them?

I keep having extremely vivid dreams where I have panic attacks, and upon waking up I feel like I had just had one. Am I actually having them at night? Is that a thing? My sleep quality has been abysmal as of late.

Hey, I know the feeling. I too experienced very realistic dreams. I would wake up with sweat, palpitations, shortness of breath, and I really felt like I was having an anxiety attack. These things have treatment, and after I visited my psychiatrist and told him about it, he gave me pills that really helped me and calmed down these dreams, my sleep improved significantly as well. Have you been to a psychiatrist?

I don’t have much advice, but just so you know you’re not alone, this actually happened to me the other day! I had a panic attack during the day time and eventually I was able to fall asleep. I had a dream that I had a panic attack and it felt so real. I woke up completely drained of all energy and felt like I was going to have another one. I told myself that it was just a dream and that I am safe, it’s just my old friend Anxiety coming to visit, and the feeling WILL pass.
