Go 100% gluten free, I feel so much better after having done so. Also maybe see if you can be tested for a wheat allergy.

any tips for a beginner? Or any gluten free items you recommend or really like, I'm half Italian so I've literally lived off pasta, bread etc

The commonly used blood test can present false negatives, if that's the test you're referring to, so it's not always the best indicator of whether or not you have celiac disease The way I was diagnosed was more or less by my doctor tracking my ferritin and vitamin d levels after going completely gluten free. (For context, I had been taking iron supplements for years but was still severely deficient, and didn't see my levels rising at all until months after starting a strict gluten-free diet.) A biopsy is generally a more accurate test if you really need to know. I personally didn't do one because you have to eat gluten for at least 6 weeks in preparation and I was getting too sick to keep it up 😬

Ive had Celiac disease for more than 30 years. Ive been biopsied twice positive. I keep my last result and show it because blood tests are not accurate. I still fight with Drs. After having Covid and I have long Covid now, my Ferritin(high)and Iron(low) because of celiac, I am still not absorbing oxygen I had a sleep study(at 70% absorbtion) and a Catscan(fibrotic lungs, scars)because of the celiac I am not absorbing nutriets and the lungs not absorbing oxygen. Hence the fatigue. Do a Google search. You may have something similar. Just a thought.

I actually have lung issues going on as well where no one can explain just inhalers and that it's probably asthma. But so hard for me to consistently take a successful deep breath I can't just do it anymore if I chose too which started a few months ago, I got a ct scan and the first person who looked at it said maybe early early signs of fybrosis but went to a pulmonologist and he said there was no evidence of that and it's probably some allergic asthma and I'd grow out of it, Is that similar? What do you do for it? I feel like I've tried everything

Talk to your doctor about a biopsy BEFORE going gluten free. If u go gluten free and it helps you will have to start eating gluten again (for 6 weeks I believe) to get an accurate biopsy for a diagnosis

When I got sick all my tests can't back negative or borderline including biopsies, I ended up getting genetic testing fine which showed I had both the genes for celiacs so my doctor diagnosed me with celiacs due to having both genes, a lot of symptoms and I was doing a lot better when I was completely gluten free. It was stressful but in the end finding a doctor who really paid attention to everything not just the testing saved me!

My sister and I tested so low that it didn’t show up on tests and our celiac was ruled out as just stomach issues but a year later our test showed extremely high! So just be careful and go gf as soon as you think you’re having issues
