Help! Weed is giving me social anxiety!

I used to be able to smoke a lot of weed. But something has changed. Every time I smoke I get very bad social anxiety. I become mute, and can’t really hold a conversation without overthinking something in my head (ie. “Do they think I’m acting stupid?”). I was wondering if anyone had a solution/help?

I was right there with you and quitting smoking weed was the best decision I ever made, it made my anxiety and depression worse and it's just as addictive as any other drug in my experience.

yeah I’ve had awful depression and anxiety since this started happening. I had a suspicion weed was making everything worse. I needed someone to confirm that so thanks for the quick response. I’m gonna try and quit smoking then! Do you have any tips on that?

I’ve smoked weed for about the past 4 years and really was convinced it was helpful. I recently decided to get sober and haven’t smoked for over a month now. The 6th and 7th day were the most difficult for me but apparently that is fairly normal. Every once in a while I’ll crave it just because I’m feeling a lot or it is a situation I would normally smoke in. Highly recommend taking up a new hobby that is really engaging for you (I learned to quilt 😂). It helped me create a new routine around the hobby to replace times when I used to smoke.

I always thought were helped me, for 9 years. Then I stopped due to financial reasons and then realized that it was a big problem. Been sober from it for a year. Great decision!
