I’ve been taking hydroxychloroquine for 2 years and gained so much weight I plan on stopping gonna talk to my rheumatologist first but she put me on it as soon as she thought I had Lupus didn’t get diagnosed until November last year and SLE is really difficult to live with but if you find meds diet and exercise that works for you it can be a lot more bearable

I was diagnosed last summer, & have been on hydroxychloroquine since then. I gained a little weight initially but I'd lost so much at that point, I was grateful to put some back on. I'm approximately 10 pounds heavier than I like to be but that is a small thing to bear when the medication works so well. I've tried life without it & felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I'm very careful about what I eat so as not to cause inflammation, & I exercise & meditate to alleviate stress. I'm also big on vitamins & supplements (prenatal vitamin, Vit D, magnesium, Vit C, & a mushroom complex for immune support).
