Weird Anxiety Symptoms: Jolting Limbs

Has anyone else get weird symptoms that could be from anxiety? I have general symptoms that I know are from anxiety like being sweaty, difficult breathing, etc. But this thing happened later in life. I noticed that either my limbs feel really heavy (I don’t know if it’s anxiety-induced or a depressive thing) or they jolt. Like when I’m stressed/anxious, my arm or leg would just randomly jolt. One of the few times it happened in public, my leg started to jolt in a weird way and I had to stop at the side of a random store. It was really embarrassing and inconvenient. I don’t know if it’s something I should talk about with my primary doctor or a psychiatrist. The jolting hasn’t happened I think around January/February.

Yeah, I shiver randomly even if I'm not cold. I also sweat a lot for no reason. My hands are usually clammy as if I have a fever/cold

The heavy limbs thing happens to me too! It always make me want to panic but I block it out. I get hypnic jerks as I’m falling asleep and that has launched many a nocturnal panic attacks. I would suggest getting a physical done with your PCP just to rule anything out and to know that you’re healthy. Then if it continues to happen you can reassure yourself that you’re healthy and it’s anxiety. Or if it’s a condition, you could get treatment or maybe physical therapy for it. It’s just always good to look into something to put your mind at ease. All the best 💛

Yes!! This happens to me and my mother both. We agree that it's tension from anger and anxiety just built up and saved in our muscles and you're not always mentally aware of it. Like when you don't feel super anxious but your body does. I get heavy, numb or achy limbs a lot. Sometimes I get this while I KNOW I'm anxious, too, but not always. I get twitchy and can't make it stop.

It can be a anxiety thing often when we get small stressskrs our muscles store that energy and it builds up until the muscle suddenly reales it and that can causes the sudden jolt at random times

I get really bad tremors sometimes (and small tremors almost all the time) and have jolted as you explained before... hasn't happened much, but it's definitely a weird feeling and seemed to be an anxiety response.

For me I have TS so I get the feeling of it being annoying and inconvenient. But it does tend to get worse with anxiety. When I'm in a depressive episode I usually feel heavy/groggy and sore
