Worried about my mental health

i’m starting to worry i have more mental illnesses other than the anxiety and depression i was diagnosed with. i’m constantly googling my symptoms and trying to find something that matches my behavior. is this as unhealthy as i think it is, and should i bring this up to my new therapist?

I think you should bring this up with your therapist. I have illness anxiety, it relates more with thinking I have a physical illness rather than mentally though. It sounds like what you’re describing with constantly searching for symptoms and diseases. And if you think you have certain mental illnesses write them down and ask about them. Your therapist might be able to send you somewhere to do a test or just give you information about them

Please don’t do this. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

absolutely bring it up with your therapist. i would try my best not to get attached to a diagnosis you don’t have yet. my best advice is to journal all of the symptoms you’re experiencing and the severity they affect you.

i would write down the symptoms and then share that with your therapist so they can help you find a cause for those symptoms
